Delete your Kindlings account and data

Kindlings keeps almost everything on your phone. Here's how to delete what it keeps, on the phone and online. Kindlings was called Spirit before; these steps are the same under either name.

In the app

• Everything, here and online: More › Your data › Delete everything, here and online. This deletes all your data on the phone, your online backup and its passkey, your notifications, and your Friends account (with its friends, chats, games and trades). It doesn't cancel a Kindlings Plus membership: cancel that in Google Play.
• Only this phone: More › Your data › Clear this phone erases everything on the phone, but keeps your online backup and Friends account so you can restore them (with automatic backup off, the Friends account is deleted too).
• Only your Friends account: Kindlings › Friends › settings › Delete my account. Your friends, chats, games and trades are deleted from the server, and you're taken off your friends' lists.
• Only your online backup: More › Your data › Automatic backup › Turn off.
• Your Kindlings account (if you signed in with Google): More › You › Kindlings account › Delete my Kindlings account, with your screen lock. It's deleted 7 days later, with everything on it: what syncs between your devices, its daily copies, its Friends profile (friends, chats and games), and its devices and ways back in. Your devices are told (a notification where they're on, and on Today when you open Kindlings), and any of them can tap Keep my account until then. What's already on your own devices stays there until you clear them. On a signed-in device, Clear this phone and Delete everything only take that device off the account.

Without the app

Lost your phone, or can't open the app?

• Your backup: on any phone, open Kindlings, get your backup back with your passkey (your phone's screen lock) or your backup code, then turn backup off. Nobody else, including us, can open or find your backup without them.
• Your Friends account: email us at hello@kindlings.app with the subject "Delete my account", your Friends name (like @sam) and your invite code if you have it. We may ask a question to make sure it's yours, then delete the account, with its friends, chats, games and trades, within 30 days and reply when it's done.
• Your Kindlings account: on any phone or computer, open Kindlings, go to More › You › Kindlings account, sign in with Google. Have your passkey backup or recovery code? Use it to sign in, then tap Delete my Kindlings account: it's deleted 7 days later. Without them, tap Can't get in at all? Delete this account: it's deleted 30 days later. Either way your devices are told and any of them can keep it until then. Google's sign-in alone can delete your account, never open it.

Everything else lives only on your phone, so it goes when you delete the app or reset the phone.
